Double-entry accounting · Made for Malaysia

Every ringgit, traced from invoice to balance sheet.

Zycount is accounting software for Malaysian SMEs. Invoices, bills, bank lines and payroll post themselves to the ledger — balanced to the sen, locked by period, and one click away from the document that created them.

How a transaction posts

One invoice. Six places it shows up. All of them agree.

Traditional software records a sale and hopes the reports catch up. Zycount runs every document through an accounting engine, so each figure in a statement walks back to the invoice that made it. Click a step.

What's in the books

The whole business, filed like a chart of accounts.

Each module posts through the same engine and lands in the same ledger — no exports between systems, no reconciling your own software against itself.

CodeModuleWhat it doesStatus

Live modules run on real posted data in the workspace. Preview modules are designed and clickable on sample data, and go live phase by phase.

Financial statements

Statements that prove themselves.

The figures below are the demo company's actual books for January–August 2026, straight from the workspace. Assets equal liabilities plus equity. Debits equal credits. Every time.

Tax and statutory rules as settings, not spreadsheets.

Rates live in versioned configuration with an effective date, so a budget change is an update — not a rewrite. Always confirm current rates with LHDN, KWSP, PERKESO and RMCD before you file.

Sales & Service Tax

Tax codes on every invoice and bill line; output and input tax post to their own accounts, and the tax report ties to the ledger.

Controls

The controls your auditor asks about — already switched on.

Books you can trust are books that can't be quietly changed. These rules are enforced by the engine, not left to good habits.

Questions

Asked by accountants, answered plainly.

Is Zycount real double-entry accounting?

Yes. Every transaction is a journal with at least two lines that must balance before it posts. Invoices, bills, receipts, payroll and depreciation all generate their journals automatically, and you can see each one before and after it posts.

Can I fix a mistake in a posted entry?

You reverse it. Zycount posts an equal-and-opposite entry linked to the original, then you post the correct one. The ledger keeps the full story, which is exactly what an auditor wants to see.

How does it handle SST and payroll deductions?

Tax codes carry the rate and post output and input tax to separate accounts. Payroll computes EPF, SOCSO, EIS and PCB from versioned rate tables. Both are configuration, so you can update rates when they change — and you should verify them against the authorities before filing.

Can I move my existing books in?

Yes. Import your chart of accounts, customers, suppliers, products and opening balances from Excel or CSV, with validation and a preview before anything is written.

Can I try it right now?

The demo workspace is open: sign in with admin@zycount.test and Zycount!Demo2026, or create your own account. Try the accountant and then the auditor login — what you can do changes with the role.

Who owns the data?

You do. Export any report or list to CSV or PDF at any time. Zycount is built on open-source components (PostgreSQL, Next.js, NestJS) and can be self-hosted.
